Frequently asked questions about liveSats

Basics

How do donations work? Do funds go straight to my wallet?

liveSats uses a forward model: donations are forwarded directly to the Creator’s wallet, with platform fees deducted automatically.

Which cryptocurrencies are accepted?

Currently, liveSats supports:

  • EVM networks: Optimism (Polygon and others are on the roadmap), including ERC-20 tokens such as USDC and USDT
  • Bitcoin Lightning Network: availability postponed.

Supported networks and tokens may vary by region or configuration. Check in-app documentation or settings for what is available now.

Do I need KYC? Why?

Yes. For Creators, identity verification (KYC) is required for compliance reasons.

This is needed to:

  • Meet legal and regulatory obligations
  • Prevent fraud and money laundering
  • Protect platform security and integrity

How much does liveSats cost? What are the fees?

liveSats charges a platform fee of 2% (two percent) on the gross amount of each donation; that amount is deducted automatically before payout to the Creator. In addition, there are network fees (gas/fees) that vary by blockchain and are not controlled by liveSats.

Future changes to the platform fee will be reflected in these materials (Terms/FAQ) and/or in the application when applicable.

Technical and transactions

What if I send a donation to the wrong address or network?

Warning: blockchain transactions are irreversible. If you send to the wrong address, network, or with wrong parameters, you will likely lose funds.

Always verify:

  • The destination address is correct
  • The selected network/chain matches the address
  • The token/contract is correct (watch for malicious or fake tokens)

How long until a donation is received?

Timing depends on:

  • On-chain confirmations (varies by network: Lightning is fast; EVM may take seconds to minutes)
  • Technical limits or third-party outages
  • Compliance/security checks (rare additional verification)

Under normal conditions, Lightning donations are nearly instant; EVM donations depend on blockchain confirmation time.

Can I receive donations on multiple networks at once?

Yes, as long as the networks are enabled and supported by the app. Support is expanding.

Integrations

How do I connect my YouTube channel?

  1. After logging in to liveSats, you will be directed to Google OAuth
  2. Authorize the required YouTube scopes (e.g. youtube.readonly to list your broadcasts)
  3. After connection, liveSats can list your active streams and show donations during broadcasts

You can revoke access anytime in your Google account settings.

Does liveSats work with platforms other than YouTube?

Right now liveSats is focused on YouTube integration. Other streaming platforms may be added depending on API availability and business factors.

Security and compliance

Is my data safe? Does liveSats hold my private keys?

No. liveSats does not custody funds or private keys. You keep full control of your wallets. liveSats only:

  • Detects donations made via the pay page on supported blockchains
  • Forwards funds to your configured addresses (after deducting fees)
  • Displays donation events

Can I use liveSats if I am under 18?

No. Use is restricted to users 18+, in line with partner platforms (e.g. YouTube) and legal requirements for crypto transactions.

Issues and support

A donation did not show up. What should I do?

Check:

  1. Correct network: confirm the donor sent on a supported network
  2. On-chain confirmations: the transaction may be pending — check a block explorer
  3. Configured address: confirm the receiving address in your account is correct
  4. Supported token: confirm the token is supported

If the issue persists after these checks, contact support.

Can I get a refund for a donation?

No. Donations are final and non-refundable by default, as they are voluntary on-chain transactions (irreversible).

Exceptions may exist only due to legal obligation or error clearly attributable to liveSats, at our discretion.
